Pan-Bp: Database of Burkholderia pseudomallei Pan-genome



Overview

The Pan-Bp database consists of pan-genome information derived from complete Burkholderia pseudomallei genome data of NCBI database. The genes collection of this bacteria were pooled and orthologous groups (OGs) assignment was performed using EDGAR tools (Blom et al. 2009). The assigned OGs were computational characterized using bioinformatics tools prior to its implementation in subsequent analyses. Currently, the database consists of two sets of pan-genome: the first version carries 48 B. pseudomallei genomes and the second version has a total of 81 genomes.

Users may query the database using two ways of search: (i) basic search and (ii) sequence search. Basic search implemented three search options; gene ID, keywords and orthologous groups. While sequence search integrated BLAST program (Altschul et al. 1990) to search for sequence similarity in provided databases.
